What I ordered: 18 Course Dinner (£60pp)
Website: https://www.instagram.com/kurisuomakase/ & https://www.facebook.com/KurisuOmakase/

Imagine Japanese sushi, with a Thai and Colombian influence... Well you don't have to imagine that anymore because if you head over to Kurisu Omakase it becomes a reality! The sushi chef, Chris, puts together flavours that you wouldn't expect would be paired together, in 18 yummy courses. Would you have ever thought to have put orange zest on fish? No... well Chris DID! All 6 of us enjoyed every single bite, whilst his dishes literally melted in our mouths. When the session was over, we still wanted more and we didn't want it to end (I'm sure from the pictures you can tell why). Not only were we able to devour unique dishes, I was able to have the experience of eating foods I had never tried before such as; caviar, miso soup (I'm probably late to the party, sue me) and some of the fish he served. As it is only 6 people per session, it's very intimate. Therefore, you get to enjoy the food and also his passion, knowledge and the background of his influence, as well as being entertained by his humour. This is an experience I won't forget and if you're also looking for a unique experience, I really recommend it (especially if you're a sushi lover). This is the beginning of Kurisu Omakase and I'm excited to watch it grow!

What I ordered: Lobster Mac & Cheese (with a side of salad), Chips and Strawberry Daiquiri slushie cocktail
Website: http://bigeasy.co.uk/#home

First of alllll, these pictures do not give the size of the lobster mac & cheese justice... it was BIG!!! Secondly, can you believe this was £10 (each)?! We might have made the mistake of going here when the beautiful London summer heat was 31 degrees outside, so having something as heavy as this was a bit sickly. HOWEVER, that does not take away from the fact it was still a delicious meal! I just thought I'd give the heads up to go here, probably during Autumn/Winter for the perfect comfort food. The mac and cheese was dreamy and creamy lol, and then once you got a bite of the lobster it was even better. Another good thing about that mac and cheese, was that they were generous with the lobster chunks. I feel like some places would be stingy and only allow you to get a few bites of lobster, but that wasn't the case. In almost every bite, I got a big chunk of lobster. The drinks were refreshing in the heat. I really want to go back soon, to try their Crabshack Combo (which has peel ‘n’ eat shrimp, crab claws, mussels, cams & new potatoes, hot ‘n’ spicy or garlic White Wine Cream) - does that not sound amazingggggg??? My mouth is watering thinking about it. I think my seafood combo dream, will soon come true :')

What I ordered: Fried chicken, Glazed chicken and chips. I've been a second time and also tried the sticky chicken.
Website: http://chickandbeers.co.uk/

Omg, if it wasn't for my friend, I would have never know this placed existed!!! It was life changing to my taste buds. I also think they should sponsor her, because the amount of people who kept asking where this was, was crazyy. This was the first time I had ever tried Korean food. I initially thought the first time I would try Korean food, would be at a Korean bbq spot, but this was a great way to start it because it's FRIED CHICKEN. Firstly, let's talk about the unique way they present it. It comes in this wooden crate box, with newspaper on the base. I love this concept. It gives a super warm and casual dining theme, as if you're in your house and you can freely tuck straight into it. Now let's move onto the chicken... THAT CRISPY, CRISPY, SWEET AND JUICY CHICKEN. As soon as you bite into it, you get that perfect crunch and the chicken isn't dry, so it melts into your mouth. It has the right flavours (as the sweetness of it isn't overbearing at all) and it's light, so you don't feel sickly after eating it. As I also mentioned, I recently tried the sticky chicken (which are boneless chicken bites). These weren't bad, but I recommend the glazed chicken over it. Even the chips were amazingg. Again, light, crispy, fluffy and it even had some flavouring to it. This is the perfect spot for a family lunch/dinner or a catch up with a friend.

Heads up:
- One portion is enough for two, however, you can do half and half.

What I ordered: Salt and pepper squid, Sausage, chorizo, potato and gorgonzola Bianco (no tomato sauce) pizza with Negroni Sbagliato and Limoncello Kiss cocktails.
Website: https://ecorestaurants.com/

Eco seems like the perfect place for a dinner date (whether it's a catch up with a friend or a significant other). It has a calm and casual atmosphere, but still feels fancy at the same time. As you step in, you see the seating, along with the open kitchen in the middle, located on the left. The food was delicious. My salt and pepper squid came with tartare sauce, which obviously complimented it well. What stole the show was the PIZZA!!! I can taste it now as I'm typing this. Unexpectedly, it had a sweet and salty combination. The sweetness came from those potatoes. They weren't sweet potatoes, but they were sweet and were yummmyyyyy!!! Once I got a bite of everything in my mouth, there was an explosion of satisfying flavours. Every bite made me happy lol. Only teeny downside, was that the gorgonzola was a tad overpowering in certain bites. Some parts of the pizza had a good dollop of it, so when I ended up just biting into it, it was a little sickly. Overall, the food was great, the portions were on point and the price made it all even better!!! I cannot wait to go again!!! I want that pizza now...

Heads up:
- Book beforehand (recommended if you're going in the evening).
- 2 for 1 on cocktails (Mon-Fri between 5:30pm-7pm).

What I ordered: Codfish fritters, Jerk chicken with rice and peas and rum punch.
Website: http://www.fishwingsandtings.com/menu/

Sometimes finding a good West Indian restaurant can be difficult. Even though, they're selling the same food, it can be a hit and miss. With Fish, Wings and Tings, that was not the case. The codfish fritters, were better than saltfish fritters. There were hints of spring onions (and I love spring onions), they were light and fluffy and there wasn't that overwhelming saltiness. The sauce, which was a mix of sweet and sour, complimented them really well and as it was a thin consistency, it made the balance even better. The jerk chicken meal was the PERFECT portion. The chicken wasn't dry, which made the meal even more enjoyable and the flavours on that plate were amazinggg! There was the subtle spice and heat from the jerk, and then there was the sweetness from the bbq tamarind sauce, coleslaw and mango/pineapple chutney. To accompany my food, I got rum punch (which did not lack any Wray and Nephew at all lol). I recommend eating here during the summer. It's the perfect setting to enjoy good food, company and the weather.  To conclude, I can't wait to go back!... Even if that means, going during the winter period.

Heads up:
- Only outside dining, so it's best to go in the summer.

What I ordered: AB Traditional (Fried chicken, Absurd gravy and waffle topped with maple syrup) and chips. My friend had also ordered mac and cheese on the side.
Website: https://www.absurdbird.com/

The one meal I wanted to try before I die, was chicken and waffles. I thought in order to accomplish this, I'd have to travel to America. Luckily, my friend found this place and my food dream came true!!! It's a small restaurant, with industrial lights. The seating is a bit awkward, as you either sit on the sofa side or stools. Apart from that, the food did not disappoint. I'm a major fan of sweet and salty flavours together, and they made it pair perfectly. The saltiness from the well seasoned boneless fried chicken and sweetness from the waffle and maple syrup, was just wow! It was the perfect balance. That gravy was different, I can't explain the taste of it, but I was fan of it. It complimented it all well (btw, I would dip my food in it, whilst eating, instead of just pouring it on top). To be honest, depending on how hungry you are, you don't need sides with it, as the meal alone was pretty filling. I've been back a second time, and I can't wait to go back again!

Heads up:

What I ordered: Salsiccia Friarielli (mascarpone based pizza, with sausage and broccoli)
Website: http://www.500degrees.co/

Since I went here during the amazing hot summer we had, I would definitely recommend going here for a little summer date night, as you can sit outside and enjoy your food. This was one of the best pizza's I've ever had (in a few weeks I'll post the other pizza which I also really enjoyed). After having a mascarpone based pizza, I really prefer having this option now - if you're the same, this is the spot for you! Also, I never thought I'd ever eat sausage and BROCCOLI on a pizza, together and I don't regret it at all. I'll also add, the base was fluffly and light, and just melts in your mouth. With the summer heat and that pizza, you feel like you're in Italy!

Heads up:

What I ordered: Fried chicken burger, fries and Bailey's cheesecake milkshake
Website: https://www.dipandflip.co.uk/

I'll start by simply saying that I wasn't a fan of Dip & Flip. It was a while ago I went, but I remember there wasn't really much flavour in the burger and it was a bit dry. It came accompanied with gravy, again, not a fan. I didn't really understand that concept. It wasn't just me who thought it wasn't great - my friend agreed as well. We both got the same thing, so maybe I'll give it another chance one day and see if something else makes me think differently.  The only thing I enjoyed the most was the milkshake lol because you could really taste the Bailey's in it. Also, the workers were friendly!

What I ordered: Chicken Alfredo
Website: https://uk.vapiano.com/en/home/

I feel like people either love Vapiano, or some people don't understand the hype of it. I'm on the side of, not understanding the hype of it. The good thing about Vapiano, is that it's different. It's like Benihana, as you go and order what you want, whilst watching it get made in front of you (but you stand and wait). Not only that, you get to choose which type of pasta you would want and there's a range to choose from. However, the chicken alfredo was bland, which was a bit of a let down. On a brighter note, this doesn't dictate the whole menu as I have tried their bbq pizza which was pretty good! Unlike my iffy decision on going back to Dip & Flip, I would definitely want to go back to try a different pasta option.

Heads up:
- Go at a reasonable time because if you go too late, there's a long line to wait for your food.

What I ordered: Classic burger, (my friend got Brick Lane burger), cheesy fries and wings
Website: https://www.instagram.com/lovechikn/

Chik'n is like a slightly more upper class Morley's/KFC. Best thing is that the packaging is the same as how chicken shops usually are, so it sticks to a laidback and casual vibe. The burger I had was different to any burger I've ever had, as it was filled with flavours I had never tried in a burger before. I wouldn't say it was amazinggg, but I wouldn't say it was horrible. It's definitely still worth the try for the experience of trying something new. The wings were really crispy to bite into - it was a simple wing, with simple flavours and still really nice. Sometimes, the less the better... ONLY SOMETIMES THOUGH! The only downside was again... these damn cheesy fries. As my friend described, it was basically like the cheese you get in the cinema with nacho cheese. It was worse than Shake Shack. They got cold kind of quickly and of course as a result the cheese hardened too quickly. To end with a brighter note, they also do refill on some drinks!

My first spot out of London. To make a long story short it's... BOUJEE CREAMS BUT WITH AFFORDABLE AND NEAR ENOUGH THE SAME PRICES!!! Plus, they have more items on their menu's, such as chocolate covered strawberries (as you can see). The interior is super fancy and modern, so it instantly makes you feel you're in a much more expensive place, than you actually are.  I'm quite excited because they'll soon be opening one in Stratford, London and in some other locations around the UK.

Another spot in Brixton! Despite this burger being a struggle and a mess to eat, I would say it was worth it. There were soo many flavours from the rocket, the saltiness from the bacon/chicken and the sweetness from the syrup. I was even more excited because this was my first time having a waffle as a savoury and it obviously didn't disappoint. Only downside was the added service charge, as the service wasn't AMAZING!

What I ordered: Mac 'n' Cheese bites and espresso martini
Website: http://www.thejointldn.com/

I finally grabbed a bite in Brixton Village. I've lived in Brixton my whole life and I have never eaten in Brixton Village. It wasn't until recently I decided to actually make use of the food spots that are in Brixton. The Joint's menu is quite limited but I think they have very good choices and it is a good place to just grab a quick bite, when you're not feeling too hungry. As you can see, you get 5 bites but they are quite filling. They come accompanied with a rice wine sweet chilli vinegar sauce, which oddly compliments the bites really well. I say oddly because I would have never paired them together - it gives an Asian fusion mix. I have also tried their bbq wings (which I wasn't too much of a fan of) and their onion rings (which I was a fan of, as they were flavourful and were bigger than what I was expecting). As you can see, they also serve cocktails. The espresso martini was tinier than what I thought it would be, but I guess they don't want to give you a caffeine high lol. It was also quite sweet but that wasn't overwhelming.

Heads up:

The same day I visited Giraffe. was the same day I came to Prezzo. As I mentioned in the Giraffe post, it was my first time having brunch at a food spot and at Prezzo it was my first time dining outside. The weather was perfect for it and so was the environment - it's something I'm going to start doing more often. Prezzo seems like a great place for Italian dining. The garlic bread was good, it was light and crispy, in fact as I'm writing this, I can taste it now. It was soo good we ordered a second round of it lol. The pasta was the perfect portion and even though it had a light seasoning, it was still pretty flavourful. The cake was decent - wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing! I prefer for my cake to be warm so I can have a balance with the cold ice-cream and I feel like warm cake has a lighter texture. Sadly, for me it wasn't warm enough. Overall, I enjoyed Prezzo and even though I was full, it wasn't a sickly full. I can't wait to go back again and try more from their menu (especially their black pizza!!!).

GBK is a good place if you're looking for a nice, flavourful and cheap burger, with casual dining. How cute are their super skinny fries? I wasn't expecting that. As you bite into the burger, it's not a heavy feel as the bun and burger are soft. Also, the workers were really friendly and make you feel welcome. The only bad thing to me, is the menu limited - so it's a bit of a hassle if you're really stuck on what to choose.

This was my first time having brunch... Only breakfast I've ever had outside is from McDonald's... I know that's quite sad. This was a great way to start my proper first brunch outing. Whilst researching online, out of all the spots I came across, this was the most eye catching one. It had a variety of options that I would enjoy, with the most reasonable prices. Only off putting thing was that after every bite of the pancakes/bacon there was a weird after taste which I can't explain, but overall it was still yummy.

I love TGI's - it's my go-to when I am unsure of where I want to eat! It's such a fun and casual environment to enjoy American dining. Even drinking my cocktail is fun, because the rim is made up of popping candy lol. For their main meals you pay a reasonable price for what you get (in terms of portion and taste). However, for their starters I personally think that some of them are a little overpriced for the portions. On a brighter note, they have a variety of meals and cocktails/mocktails to choose from, so you're pretty spoiled for choice.

All deserts have a variety of combinations to choose from to satisfy your sweet tooth and you can also create your own combinations. They have soo many options that their menu takes up the table lol.  Oh and I don't know if the picture gives it justice, but the waffles are BIG! Since I've only had waffles and milkshakes from there, I can say that their waffles are light and not heavy so you don't feel too sickly afterwards.

Thai Square is the perfect place to feel boujee, on a budget. I say 'boujee, on a budget' because somewhere like here I would have thought I would end up spending £50, but depending on what you get, I end up spending around £25 - which I think is really really good for somewhere like here, serving good quality food. Everytime you walk in, there's such a tranquil and classy feel but it is casual at the same time. You feel like you're in a temple because the interior is filled with Buddhist pieces. So far the food I have tried has given me no faults, every single bite is flavourful (the combo of the spices of the chilli lamb with the sweetness of the coconut rice is soo goood!).

If you enjoy Japanese food, this is the place for you. I've passed this place for YEARSSSSSS and it was only this year I finally went in. Ichiban is perfect for me because it's very local and super affordable. It's pretty intimate because it is small (even though I really wish they expanded as they're THAT GOOD) and you sit on benches at your table, so it becomes quite a sociable environment if you're with a group. Being that it is small, the customer service is great, as they are available to attend your needs quickly. They have a range of sushi meals and other hot meals. The meals I have eaten have all been very flavourful and it always has my eyes rolling to the back of my head. I must add that egg fried rice is the best I've ever had.

Heads up:
- The best time to go is as soon as it has opened (5:30pm), as you're guaranteed a seat.
- One downside is that the fish & meat dishes do not come as a meal, so you have to order rice separately (but it is worth it!!!).
